In the Navigator view, they should be hidden by default (if they are not, 
pull down the black triangle menu and select Filters...).
In the Packages view, we are still working on ways that these files can be 
hidden; stay tuned and we'll keep this list up to date on any solutions we 
decide on.
I agree it's a pain to see them, and accidentally copying directory trees 
with these directories in them can be very problematic as well.

I am playing around with the new CVS support.  Is there a way to hide all
of the "CVS" folders that appear within the project?  For example, if I
Checkout a module from eclipse.org there are all these CVS folders that
make it very hard to navigate.
