Stefan, 

Losing you, Sergei and the Eclipse team at Google it's quite sad. 

Given Google's significant contributions to Eclipse, we're going to lose the possibility to have consistent synergies with one of the biggest players in the software market. 

Although the decision has already been taken, I wonder to know if there is something that we could do to bring back Google's support to Eclipse.

Bug 512921 has an almost-complete patch attached that fixes the main issue. However, the patch contains a bug that causes index corruption after several invalidation/reindex passes. It's unlikely that I'll be able to find the bug and release the patch. :-(
