For giggles I checked how many times we actually had "All tests pass"
message in the last months:

I think many of us dropped the ball on this one. Quite a few component
teams had test failures or DNF's over the weekend and there was no bug
entered by any of those teams until this afternoon as far as I could see.
This was probably a case of everyone assuming the bug was elsewhere. The
lesson is that any component with a test failure needs to understand the
cause of the failure enough to rule out a bug in their own code, and enter
a bug against the component they believe is causing it. In any case the
problem appears to be solved now and credit goes to Kevin for entering the
bug and Paul for debugging and figuring out the root cause of the failures.

Is there any background information why the problem introduced in
N20091113-2000 was not addressed in the last 4 days and why this bug then
even got released into the I-build?

This build appears to crash and burn on startup:
