Dear Eclipse IDE and platform communities,
The Call for Proposals for Open Community Experience 2027 (OCX27) is now open. OCX27 takes place 13 to 15 April 2027 in Brussels, organised by the Eclipse Foundation.
The Modern software development track covers the tools developers use every day, and the Eclipse IDE and the Eclipse Platform have been part of that for 25 years. The program committee is looking for sessions such as:
- IDEs and extensions, and how tooling ecosystems fit together
- Programming languages and language evolution, including Java and the JVM
- AI assistants and agents inside the IDE, and remote development
- Debugging, testing and developer experience
If you have shipped a Platform feature, moved a large plug-in base to a new Java release, or brought AI assistance into the Eclipse IDE, that is a talk.
The committee wants talks grounded in real experience: a working implementation, a lesson learned the hard way, or practical knowledge other teams can use. First-time speakers are welcome.
Early bird deadline: 9 November 2026.
