[platform-dev] navigator and filters

  I know this is a faq and a feature request (https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=1970), but my question differs slightly. In version 2.x of eclipse we have been able to add filters by manually editing the xml file. However in version 3.x I was expecting to see something in the UI for adding filters, but this has not appeared yet. To our dissapointment we are now unable to add filters manually as the UI does not pick up the changes to the xml? 

What do we need to do to get the UI to pick up the filters from the xml?
