Hi JD,
Platform debug has not moved from java 1.4 mainly because we
haven't had a compelling reason to do so and platform has a
mandate to maintain maximum backward compatibility.
Beyond that if you can provide more details of your build problems
we should be able to help you on this list.

questions. ex: Is there a reason (or what is the reason) that
the bundles have a J2SE 1.4 execution environment? (can this be
updated to 1.5/6?) Are there any use-cases for the Console view
outside of the workbench? etc..
So if someone would have a little time to skype that would be
most appreciated.
