appeared on two more Windows computers so I guess it must be a Photran
bug (a very annoying one). I hope there is a solution to this because

Yes, this is a Photran bug, unfortunately. I can't seem to reproduceit, but it should be straightforward to fix -- I'll make sure thathappens in beta 6.
