[photran] Comments on new beta2
|
Hi to everybody,
First of all thanks for the new beta. A lot of things have improved :-).
Great work!
Great is that the editor now recognizes keywords used as variables and
highlights them correctly. I have never seen that before in any other
F90 editor. Nice parser :-).
Now some comments on my favorite subject: highlighting :-). After
starting photran and loading one of my free format source files, I
decided to change the colors used by default. So I entered
Window/Preferences and chose the Fortran/Editor/Colors entry. As in
beta1, a reduced control regarding the coloring is available when
compared to version 2.1.0. Again, why not use just the same interface as
for the C++ editor, which was the one used in the old version of
photran? Anyway, I changed the colors for the keywords and the comments
(through the non intuitive tag "Others"). After making the changes I
looked again at my file and everything was fine, except for one thing: a
red color is being used for numbers, commas, &, etc which cannot be
changed at all. How do I change that color?
Another point to mention is the new ruler that appears on top of the
editor window. Is there a way to disable it, just as the line numbering
on the left? Also its use for free format source files is very limited,
since there are no column restrictions as in the fixed format, so maybe
it would be a good idea to check the extension of the file and show or
not show by default the ruler.
Greetings from Spain,
Miguel
