Interesting results.

I've got an idea.  Let's plan to spend two hours next week looking at
the VPG code and talking about ways to make it faster.  Tim should
come, too.  At the very least, we'll understand VPG better.   Perhaps
we will help Jeff to improve it in some way.

This can be a cross between a code review and a group performance
improvement session.
