Hi guys,
My humble user opinion: could PDT embed running unit tests (just a nice GUI in eclipse like PHP Tools)?
As PHP Tools seems not maintained anymore, you could then break API as you want and users will still have a solution (it already happened with PHP Tools and PDT when
Mars was released
https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=473050).
It is the only missing feature in PDT, compared, for example, to Netbeans.
As of today, I have to setup “External tools” in Eclipse to have my tests running:
-
one config to run current test
-
one config to run current test with debug
-
one config to run all tests
This configuration seems simple, but is really painful to setup when you start with a fresh Eclipse install…
By the way: I really like syntax coloration ;-)

this will be first major release from a long time.
Because most extension points require internal.* usage I hope to clean up / simplify API as much as possible. Current state doesn't look good and can change extending process into a nightmare
:/

Hi,
At the moment I don't have detailed plan for 4.0. For sure we want to work with cases when PDT is unresponsive for users (e.g. during indexing/building). We want to decrease
number of places where PDT can freeze or hang. Also we have some complains that workspace operations are blocked by DLTK build process and I think we will address this issue too. Beyond that normal bug fixing and small improvements.
@Dawid From your perspective what would be most important thing for 4.0. I'm not asking about your plans, just about your opinion

Michal
Hi Dawid,
on my side, I will work
to solve
some "easy" bugs in
my free time ;)
No more plans for now, sadly I'm quite busy :S
And very happy to see that PDT is
maintained
by a very active team ;)
Thierry.
