RE: [pdt-dev] confirm which branch is for the 1.0.2 official release
|
Hi Dave,
Short answer – no, the PDT 1.0.2 will be built & released from R1_0_2_20071209
branch, so bug fixes
for the 1.0.2 release should be committed to R1_0_2_20071209 branch as well as committed to the
HEAD (to be included in PDT 1.1).
Long answer:
The HEAD branch serves for
PDT 1.1 development
The R1_0_2_20071209
branch serves for 1.0.* development (1.0.2, 1.0.3, 1.0.4).
The roadmap for PDT 1.1
will be published soon to the site and it contains major PHP model improvements
to
allow static code analysis. The implication is that the HEAD (used for PDT 1.1)
will not be stable enough
to release 1.0.2 (and 1.0.3 … 1.0.4 that will focus on bug fixes).
Another implication is
that bug fixes that are committed to R1_0_2_20071209 should also be committed to
the HEAD (see attached
image).

Hope it helps to clarify
Assaf A.

Subject: [pdt-dev] confirm which
branch is for the 1.0.2 official release
Can I assume that the HEAD branch is now the correct
branch to add fixes for the 1.0.2 release due in January ?
Many
thanks
Dave Kelsey
