it looks to me like all of Roger's commits from the previous git repository he used are listed.  The complete commit history from before the existence of the Paho Python repository has been imported.  I'm no expert on git, so I don't know how you would do that, but it answers your question of how it's possible.

I did notice that some commits in the /paho/org.eclipse.paho.mqtt.python.git repository predate the creation of the project. How is this possible?
