Re: [paho-dev] [m2m-iwg] Reference Implementation: MQTT Server in Java?
|
Moving this discussion from the m2m-iwg list to paho-dev.
I'm at the Eclipse Day in Toulouse today, and virtually the first thing I was asked this morning was whether there would be a Java-based embeddable broker in Paho.... we should look at publishing and updating the roadmap on the wiki.

Thanks, Andy.
Ideally, it would be nice to have the reference implementation be loadable with or without OSGI – e.g. a loadable core that can be bootstrapped in an OSGI container, a Java app, or even a web app server. Anytime a framework dependency comes into play, it can instantly limit potential adoption.

this might be worth moving as a discussion to the paho-dev mailing list.
I know that there were discussions at EclipseCon of an OSGi MQTT server and a couple of people mentioned that they might start work on one.
I've not yet seen an example "in the wild" but I think any contributed server code would be worth consideration.
