To catch more problems, try changing the MetadataFactory to return instances of your own objects and then run the tests.
Of course this is only to test!

I have created a patch for the metadata interfaces and attached it to [1].

The tests pass, although problems are not likely to arise until we have some other service implementations (and I will provide other patches if there turns out to be some problems).

Let me know when a good time to apply the patch is, as I will try and keep the patch up-to-date and upload a new version if needed.
