Hello Orion Community,

Recently, RedHat, IBM, Microsoft and Codenvy participated in a hackathon in Zurich: http://developers.redhat.com/blog/tag/language-servers/
Now, there's an Eclipse project proposal to take that code and "make it real": https://projects.eclipse.org/proposals/jdt-language-server

Very quickly, the LSP (Language Server Protocol), defines a high level API for IDE features. There's been lots of discussion and excitement around LSP at Eclipse on the dev-ide mailing list and elsewhere.
