Re: [orbit-dev] Do we need a Juno SR2 release?

I have created an "M-build" for Juno SR2. Details in bug 397506 [1] if anyone is curious.

Goal of Juno SR2 maintenance builds:

The initial M-build repository, at
http://download.eclipse.org/tools/orbit/downloads/drops/M20130105195403/repository/

appears identical with the Juno SR0 release repository
http://download.eclipse.org/tools/orbit/downloads/drops/R20120526062928/repository/

which of course was the goal for the initial one.

Our goal for the final one, is to have minimal differences between the SR2 version and the SR0 version, so we don't risk breaking anyone.

There's only two or three changes I know of that will go into the final SR2 R-build, so if anyone has other changes they need, be sure to open a bug, targeted to "JunoSR2".
If there's any question about whether or not something is appropriate for a "maintenance release", feel free to ask here on this list.

How to contribute to Juno SR2 maintenance builds:

To contribute to the M-builds (for Juno SR2) you'll need to load and release changes to the branched maps
org.eclipse.orbit.releng

and possibly the branched feature project
org.eclipse.orbit.build.feature.set1

In both projects, the branch is named
Juno_maintenance

Ask, if questions!

Thanks,

I seem to recall some mentioning there were one or two fixes desired for Juno SR2.

If that's still the case, we should start those "M builds" quickly in January, first or second week, and aim to be "completely done" by RC3 -1, at the latest, which would be January 25.

Not much time. So as my last note of 2012, I wanted to send this reminder.

If desired, please open a bug specifically for "Juno SR2" (even if cloning another bug) stating what you want to add/fix for that off-cycle R-build.

JGit needs an Orbit Juno SR2 release, I filed https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=397340 to track this
