Dear all,
I think the
OSC-ALKS Scenarios are an excellent example for an use case linking openPASS development with the needs of another initiative / field of application.
So let’s start our workshop with the discussion of understanding this consolidated use case (requirement
è feature
è acceptance criteria), before we address fields where we have a more preliminary status
like PCM.
@BMW: if you have slides etc. on this work, that could help!
Talk to you tomorrow,
Jan

Betreff: openPASS SC meeting and workshop SC related 0.8 goals
Dear all,
as mentioned in the last SC, I would like to use this workshop to have a more detailed look into the scope of openPASS use cases – and the “interfaces to the outside world”
for these use cases. The goal would be to identify the relevant fields of application for openPASS use cases and determine how openPASS as a group or just some partners should address these fields. From that, we can derive on AC level required additional software
features / ressources (e. g. “v0.7 urban configs”) or define needed activities to consolidate the status (e. g. “physical vehicle dynamics model”).
Background: see “NHTSA slides”
è Use cases “Traffic-scenario simulation”, “Crash re-simulation”
Status now:
-
Pull request with PCM in v0.7 core
è “common framework”, no separate simulation cores for scenario and PCM simulation
è need for further “PCM use case” consolidation
-
“OSCCAR use case” – traffic simulation for accident prediction
è link to SUMO or openPASS as a SUMO alternative?
-
API discussion
Questions to prepare for this workshop:
-
In which initiatives or funded projects do you use (or want to use) openPASS – and how? Do you want other parties to use openPASS in similar way?
-
What requirements in terms of configs, modules, validation etc. do you have? How would an “openPASS use case” (features, modules, configs) address your needs?
-
Do you see further development steps based on openPASS beyond this use case?
I would talk about how we adapted and use openPASS in OSCCAR, hence explain the “openPASS/OSCCAR interface”.
@all: please feel free to prepare something!
@Tuan: I suggest to reduce the time to 14:00 – 15:30.
Take care,
Jan
