In accordance with member consensus and recommendations following the formal process, the Eclipse Foundation is officially concluding the OpenMobility Interest Group.
Established in 2019 as a Working Group dedicated to advancing standard tools for mobility modeling and simulation, OpenMobility transitioned to an Interest Group in 2022. This shift followed advocacy from Robert Hillbrich for a lighter collaborative framework, which helped pioneer the creation of Eclipse Interest Groups. As with all such initiatives, OpenMobility was designed to operate for a specific timeframe to fulfill targeted objectives before concluding as part of its natural lifecycle. We will now begin archiving all related assets and resources of the initiative.
Please note that this conclusion has no impact on projects such as Eclipse SUMO, Eclipse MOSAIC, and Eclipse OpenMCx, which will continue their regular operations.
The Foundation extends its sincere gratitude to the community and members for their valuable contributions, with special recognition to Robert Hilbrich for his leadership.
