The Cyber Resilience Act (CRA) requires organisations to generate a significant amount of information about the systems they build and maintain. However, that work can be approached in a way that not only supports compliance, but also benefits the teams working with those systems.
This talk looks at what we can learn about our systems from the information required by the CRA, particularly in areas such as dependencies, infrastructure and maintenance.
The session also introduces the Ethical Software Framework, a developing approach based on legal frameworks, standards and technical guidelines. It focuses on areas where technical decisions intersect with ethical considerations, providing a structured way to support technical decision-making. The information gathered through the CRA contributes to this analysis, helping to identify and understand trade-offs between these areas and enabling more effective decision-making in practice.
