[oniro-wg] Reflecting on 2024: A Year of Growth and Collaboration

Dear Oniro Community,

As 2024 comes to a close, we want to take a moment to celebrate the milestones we’ve achieved together and express our gratitude for your continued support and engagement.

This year has been a remarkable one for our community. Here are some highlights that we’re proud to share:

  • Welcoming New Members: We’ve had the pleasure of bringing three new members into our working group, further enriching our community with diverse expertise and perspectives (Typefox, Bosch and Capgemini).
  • Engaged Collaboration: Three fully engaged contributors (Hoperun, Volla and Snapp Mobile) have stepped up to support and help growing Oniro activities, driving key projects and contributing to our shared success. Hopefully the three of them will be included in the first bullet point for 2025 recap ;) 
  • Strengthened Partnerships: Our connection with the OpenHarmony community has flourished, thanks to a series of workshops and discussions that have deepened our collaboration and aligned our efforts.
  • Innovative Deployments: We’ve seen several new devices running Oniro and several applications for Oniro devices —spanning IoT and mobile—demonstrating the versatility and potential of our work in real-world.
  • Global Reach: Our members delivered over a dozen talks and demonstrations at five international events, sharing our vision and achievements with a global audience.

These accomplishments are a testament to the power of collaboration, shared purpose, and the dedication of this incredible community.

As we look to 2025, we’re filled with optimism. Together, we’ll continue to innovate, expand, and strengthen the ecosystem while tackling the challenges and opportunities ahead. We are excited about the journey that lies ahead and can’t wait to see what we will achieve together.
