This is "business as usual" from the process PoV. Some project committers of a
given project requesting to increase their level of responsibility by moving
from developer to maintainer in a repo.
It is Amit or Eilis (Maintainer and Owner respectively[1]), the ones that can
do it and/or request it. I (or EMO) only jump in extraordinary situations i
which the processes do not work.
My understanding is that any of them can increase your permissions since you
are listed as committers in the Blueprints project[2]
