RE: [mylar-users] Alt-Click not working in Linux?
|
Ian has outlined why this fails on Linux, and it looks like we won't be able
to use the Alt modifier because X uses that to grab the current Window, see
discussion on:
https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=116948
The work-around Ian found is to use the Windows key along with Alt, but
that's also problematic because not all keyboards have it (e.g. ThinkPads).
We can't use a Ctrl/Shift +Alt combination because those invoke disjoint or
range selections in the tree.
So what do we do for Linux? The only other common modifier left seems to be
Esc. The other option is to say that on Linux you have to use the right
arrow key to show filtered (since that has the same behavior). But I would
really prefer to have the same UI under both Linux and Windows.
