[mylar-dev] new dev build and plan for this week

A dev build that supports the latest stable SDK integration build is now available (supports I20060131-1200, tried to move to I20060207-0930 but there seem to be critical PDE bugs).  This will not work with 3.2M4 and the download page has been updated to indicate this, reason is that the filtered tree we use in the task list has been promoted to API (good news).  Note that in this build the Mylar editor is gone (very good news).  Both Mylar's folding and content assist are now integrated via extension points that have been added for M5.  This means better performance, robustness, and interoperation with customized Java editors (AJDT's is the only one I know of).  The only thing that we've lost is the hyperlink detector which we were adding via our customized source viewer.  To get this back we're hoping that hyperlink detectors become extensible and have submitted a patch: https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=88293  To upgrade:

 

·         Close all editors before restart (e.g. by deactivating the active task).  If you don't you'll notice missing editors on startup and will have to reopen then.

·         Re-run Mylar preference options wizard to add the new content assist support (preference it sets is Java -> Editor -> Content Assist -> Work in Progress).  

·         Note that when changing versions of Eclipse all securely stored credentials go away, so you may to reset your repository password(s).

 

Also, we've had an informal convention of putting out a new developer build every Friday, unless there is a release build that day.  Eugene noticed that we didn't so last Friday and failed to install on the latest SDK integration build, so from now on we'll reliably produce the Friday dev builds.
