[mylar-dev] mylar 0.3.11 is now available

Mylar 0.3.11 is now available, a little ahead of the planned schedule since Monday is Thanksgiving in Canada.  Fewer tasks were completed than planned, but this release provides significant performance improvements, including an order of magnitude reduction in task context size which makes context switching much faster.  Also, viewer refresh has been streamlined and made more predictable when the viewers are in filtered mode, and should use considerably less CPU when making selections and edits.  The focus for the next release will be resolving the remaining high priority issues and moving build and update site infrastructure to eclipse.org.  Note that currently archive releases are now available at the following update site, e.g., www.cs.ubc.ca/~mylar/alpha/archive/0.3.10

 

Acknowledgements

Thanks to Tim Munro for the great idea of making a dynamic JUnit test suite based on all the changes in the affected task context (bug 111604).  This is planned for next week.

 

New & Noteworthy

Reduced context size

When a context is saved it now gets collapsed to remove redundancy in how interaction events contribute to interest. This results in an order of magnitude file size reduction, and much faster activation/deactivation.
