Thanks for the pointer.  I was able to find my logs and the firmware
file that I flashed.  That has TLSv1.2 in "strings" output.  So it's
almost certainly new enough.

I can certainly patch the config code.  Perhaps I'm the only one.  But
my feeling is that mqtt is often long-deployed under unreasonably long
timescales.

Your call of course, and I acknowledge that we have zero actual cases on
the table now.
