[modisco-dev] Java 8 compatibility for Eclipse 4.33 (2024-09) in MoDisco

Eclipse 4.33, or rather the accompanying ECJ, removes support for Java 5/6/7 and any attempts to compile for them fails. Most of the MoDisco codebase uses at least Java 8 but a few references to 1.5 and 1.6 had to be corrected to allow a successful build of MoDisco 1.5.5M2. This is now available at https://download.eclipse.org/modeling/mdt/modisco/builds/milestone/latest and should shortly be available as part of the 4.33 SimRel train. While the 1.5.5 release supports existing functionality, no changes have been made to support post Java 8 constructs.

Do not attempt to use MoDisco < 1.5.5 on Eclipse >= 4.33.
