Esteemed Colleges,
As you've no doubt noticed noticed, the main modeling website, as
well as the EMF Core website were badly out-dated and chaotic.
Quite frankly it's an embarrassing disaster area, so I'm very
pleased to report that Jonas Helming has kindly stepped in to give
them both a major overhaul. If you would like to review the new
version, it is available on the branch "newwebsite" of the
https://git.eclipse.org/c/www.eclipse.org/modeling.git/ clone.
We'll make it live at the end of the week. As such, you can review
it either now or later. Please don't use this mailing list for the
feedback; use https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=444230
instead.
The major relevant changes are as follows:
- The main modeling site (eclipse.org/modeling) is intended as
an organized reference to projects within various categories. We
have tried to list all active projects, however, if we forgot
some, please help us to complete the list, i.e., please provide,
via the review Bugzilla, the name, the site to be linked, a
short description, and a URL to a logo.
- The EMF site only contains content of EMF Core. All
other projects need to maintain their own page. Most already
do. Only those that do will be linked from the main page.
- While reviewing the old content, we removed all the deprecated
things. If we accidentally removed something important, we are
very sorry. Please let us know via the review Bugzilla if
that's the case.
Thanks Jonas for this effort!
Regards,
Ed
