[modeling-pmc] GMT components :: CVS path & namespace conventions for Common Modeling Build
|
Just FYI, the build system assumes that EMF(T) components are prefixed with org.eclipse.emf, and everyone else is prefixed with org.eclipse. If that doesn't work for your needs, you can symlink the actual project's root folder to one that the build system expects.
So, using M2M as an example, we have:
/cvsroot/modeling/org.eclipse.m2m/
org.eclipse.m2m.atl
org.eclipse.m2m.atl.releng
org.eclipse.m2m.qvt.oml
org.eclipse.m2m.qvt.oml.releng
- and -
org.eclipse.atl -> org.eclipse.m2m.atl
org.eclipse.atl.releng -> org.eclipse.m2m.atl.releng
org.eclipse.qvtoml -> org.eclipse.m2m.qvt.oml
org.eclipse.qvtoml.releng -> org.eclipse.m2m.qvt.oml.releng
If you can avoid the need for a symlink by simply using
/cvsroot/modeling/org.eclipse.gmt/
org.eclipse.$componentName and
org.eclipse.$componentName.releng
... so much the better. :)
Underneath those folders, you might want to structure your plugins/features like this:

Rich,
I also think this is a good opportunity to create a new CVS module that is properly within the modeling project's CVS structure where all the other projects reside. So likely we'd want a org.eclipse.gmt parent with a module for each project/component in GMT that's being reviewed and migrated...

Right, so you'll just need to submit piggyback CQs through the portal.

Great.

I think org.eclipse.epsilon.* is fine.

And download zips/jars.

You may want to leverage the query approach used by GMF (and now most of
modeling, afaik)
http://www.eclipse.org/modeling/gmf/project-info/ipquery.php That is, until
the official method is available:

This is a complicated issue, so copying Janet for counsel. :)
