+1 for me.

Ed and Rich, could we add this point to our 
teleconf meeting next week to check that everybody agrees
with Mike's proposal?

Also it would be nice to draw a map of current OMG recommendations and activities
where there exists a corresponding Eclipse implementation, project or
component.

A last point would be to inform OMG, through the "Mike/Richard Soley channel"
when there is some activity going on at Eclipse with apparently no counterpart
at OMG. One example that comes to my mind is the "EMFCompare" component,
intended to compute a model representing the difference between two
models.

I am also hearing rumors of having a "real time & embedded" Eclipse project proposal, with some links to the new OMG MARTE recommendation voted at the last OMG technical meeting in Brussels two weeks ago. This is a typical example that may require OMG/Eclipse synchronization in the future. (MARTE is a UML profile for real time and embedded systems.)

I'm not sure of you realize this, but the Foundation is a voting member of the OMG. We do not typically vote. However, it occurred to me that if there were ballots that the Modeling PMC felt strongly enough to advise the EMO on how to vote, we would be happy to do so on behalf of the community.

 

My only request is that the conversation happen publicly on the PMC mailing list, and that any request to vote includes a link to the mail archive to where the PMC discussed and voted on its recommendation to the EMO.
