Re: [microprofile-wg] [microprofile] Fwd: Welcome Ostfalia University as a Guest Member of the Jakarta EE Working Group and MicroProfile Working Group as well! 
Hi Amelia, Microprofile WG, and Jakarta EE WG (cross posted),

I (Bernd Müller) am a member of the Faculty of Computer Science of Ostalia University,
located in Germany. Kai Gutenschwager is the Dean of Faculty and will not join WGs and attend
meetings.

I am a Java gui and interested in Microprofile and Jakarta EE since years and convinced
the dean to join both working groups. I/we want to be as close as possible in the development
of both technologies. To learn for ourselves and to teach students the latest developments

Small sketch of mine
- started with Java 1.1, J2EE 1.4 and JBoss AS 3.2
- taught Java to thousands of students
- taught J2EE, Java EE, Jakarta EE and Microprofile to hundreds of students
- supervisior of more than 300 diploma, bachelor and master theses
- wrote german books about JBoss Seam (older ones will remember), Hibernate, JPA, and JSF
- local JUG leader
- program committee member of JavaLand conference, leading the enterprise track since 9 years
- member of JSR 338 (JPA 2.1) and JSR 344 (JSF 2.2). Hi Ed!
- conference speaker, mostly german conferences. JavaOne 2014, development is a pity
- talk on MP Fault Tolerance at EclipseCon 2023, Emily attended my talk, do you remember?

Thank you for sharing the exciting news! However, just as a reminder, per the MicroProfile Working Group (MPWG) Charter <https://www.eclipse.org/org/workinggroups/microprofile-charter.php>, Guest members must be voted in by the Steering Committee before officially joining the WG.
Bernd Müller and Kai Gutenschwager from Ostfalia University could either join the next Community call on Oct 29th to introduce themselves and meet a few MicroProfilers *or/and* send a written message via the working group forum about Ostfalia University's desire to join MP to initiate the process.
