Re: [microprofile-wg] [microprofile] MicroProfile OpenTelemetry Plan Creation Review - discussion prior to ballot

Hi Wayne,
Thank you for the clarification. We will update the spec name to MicroProfile Telemetry. We will update the creation review and sandbox proposal accordingly before the ballot.

Hi Emily.

The Linux Foundation claims OpenTelemetry as a trademarkĀ and has very specific trademark usage guidelines thatĀ forbid including their trademarks in product names.

Please choose a different name for the specification that is inline with the rules and policies described in the Linux Foundation's trademark usage guidelines. Note that other marks (e.g., the logo) can be used by the specification but must also conform to their trademark usage guidelines.

As discussed on today's MicroProfile Live hangout, MicroProfile OpenTelemetry group would like to socialise the idea of the creation of MicroProfile OpenTelemetry. You can see the drafted proposal here.

The creation review is here. If you have any questions, please comment asap. You are welcome to join our weekly calls on Mondays. The joining details are on the MicroProfile Calendar. We would like to start the ballot of Creation Review on 9th Feb.
