What do you mean by soon?


We could start that activity when the Juno M5 is out of the door and complete it up to Juno M6.

The involved steps are:
* Definition of a Eclipse 3.8 target platform for Sphinx (by copying and updating that for Eclipse 3.7)
* Setup of the Sphinx Juno build job on Hudson for building Sphinx against that target platform
* Check if all tests run green
* Changes in the Sphinx code base to support Eclipse 3.8 and fix failing tests if there is need to do so

How about that?
 

Other question: do you plan Sphynx to be part of the train?


I've also been thinking of that. For the Juno cycle it looks that it's already too late. But in the Kepler cycle we should definitely make a move.

we have not yet started to work on a Juno-compatible version of Sphinx. But it's definitely something that should be done soon. Could you maybe open a bug for that on Eclipse bugzilla?

Yes, we do have an update site for Sphinx (the only missing thing is that we still need to put appropriate information on the Sphinx download page...).

 

 

Please find enclosed also a target definition with appropriate p2 repositories for pulling the dependencies.

 

Concerning EMF Compare integration: you are fully right that undo/redo support is one of the things which we have addressed. Others are support for comparison merge operations on individual model elements instead of entire resources only and operation on models that are centrally manged (i.e., loaded, dirty tracked/saved/unloaded) by Sphinx workspace management.

 

Feel free to ask more questions as you digging into it.

I’m interested by Sphinx and more specifically by your CompareEditor which seems provide Undo/Redo possibilities for Merge actions.

Do you have an update site for Indigo in order to test it ?
