Some jobs are still running here [3]. Are there of any use ?
Yes, all official Luna builds are executed there.

Hi,
I added a link to the build process page in Hudson [1]
I also check the wiki documentation [2] (I added a “Best Practices” menu)
Most of the page seems outdated, the documentation is still referring to the old build server [3]
Some questions :
-
Some jobs are still running here [3]. Are there of any use ?
-
The documentation is referring to 0.9 build that doesn’t exist anymore. Should we drop it ?

Benoit Maggi

Hi Benoit,
Indeed, it’s mostly due to my laziness: I cloned the daily Master build to configure Feature builds (And I guess other people then cloned these feature builds, etc. :) )
Making them weekly can still be interesting, in order to check for failures due to changes in dependencies.

Hi,
I found a bottleneck this morning on the Hudson server, there are a lot of personal branches [1] that seems to be built periodically [2]
I don’t get the point of daily build on personal development branch :
-
It use a lot of build time
-
What can have change in 24h to impact this kind of branch ?
-
Periodical build should be at max weekly and executed in the week end.
-
Only build on maintenance or master branches should be allowed to have periodical launches.
ð
I advise against using a daily build on personal branches (committers/** and bug/**)
If no one complains against this policy, I will remove all periodic build that I found in these branches.
Regards,
Benoit Maggi
