An "a" build has been contributed to fixhttps://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=518130

The fix just promotes a vague NPE to a useful ParserException when aprofile import fails. A problem typically arises when aPapyrus-maintained *.uml, with over-enthusiastic use of Papyrus profilesis opened on a non-Papyrus platform.
