[mdt-ocl.dev] Indigo Initial Daze
 |
Hi
I've updated build.properties to use the final Helios drops, and checked
it with an N-build. That completes 3.0.0 development.
I've created an R3_0_maintenance branch for 3.0.1 development.
(Oops first mistake of the new release; I created an R3_1_maintenance by
mistake first.)
HEAD is therefore clear for 3.1 or 4.0 development.
As indicated earlier my provisional plans are an 'mid'-year 3.1.0
release making the Xtext editors much more robust and friendly. This
release to coincide with SR1 or M2.5 at approximately 1-Oct-2010,
comfortably before Eclipse Summit Europe.
At 3.1.0 non-examples plugins will have little more than bug fix
development. Fully API compliant. All non-trivial changes to be approved
by a second committer.
At 3.1.0 examples plugins may have major changes probably affecting
internal APIs. I'll probably rebaseline the ReflectiveLibrary branch
until there is a coherent pivot model etc change available.
4.0.0 for Indigo will fully integrate the Xtext and pivot model with the
LPG parsers, largely preserving internal parser APIs.
For Indigo+1 we will work with QVTo and Acceleo and ... to see how best
to deprecate the internal parser APIs.

I'm about to try to learn to love Mylyn to see if I can't improve our
Bugzilla usage so that all Bugzillas can be related to planned work
activities that appear in the project plan.
I would like to partition the Bugzillas as 5% defer, 5% won't fix, 90%
planned fix for Indigo and actually fix at least 75% of them. i.e for
the 111 bugs up to 317398, we actually fix at least 83!
