Re: [mdht-dev] http://download.eclipse.org/modeling/mdht/updates

Sean,

I spent quite a lot of time researching how other projects moved a build to download.eclipse.org, especially looking at Papyrus.  Seems to be a difficult thing to do because the Hudson build server does not have permissions to write to the downloads server.  That is why the current MDHT hudson build does not move the latest build to downloads.  Some kind of post-build script is required and I could not figure it out.

Thank you,

Hi Dave

I was able to log into the sftp site
The issue i had was with permissions - i am unable to create a directory and/or write

Also - i did not see a sftp in the maven or the hudson build to move the latest build to downloads
Am i just missing it ?

Thanks

Sean

Hi Sean,

I was able to login and create this directory structure a few weeks ago, but did not have any builds to upload at that time.  The link you list should be valid, but is an empty directory.  I believe the login instructions where provided to you as a committer in the email you received with new committer info.  I will look up the login credentials that I used and try again.  Used sftp.

Also be sure you describe these builds as either nightly or stable.  We cannot name a build "released" until all MDHT project IP review is complete.

Dave -
I was attempting to push out our “mars” release to the download eclipse
similar to http://download.eclipse.org/modeling/mdht/updates/nightly/neon/

a couple of things
this link is not valid (http://download.eclipse.org/modeling/mdht/updates/nightly/neon/)
I attempted to sftp per https://wiki.eclipse.org/IT_Infrastructure_Doc#Create_a_new_Component.2FVersion.2FMilestone.2FTarget.3F and was unable to log in - Are you able to log into this site ?  I am wondering if i need to sign up for access

Thanks
