Re: [m2m-iwg] M2M projects or sessions at November DemoCamps?

Hi,

Following JavaOne Embedded where beside my Embedded/M2M related talk I met several other players like upcoming JCP EC Ratified candidate Cinterion (they are also initial member of 2 new Embedded JSRs on ballot this week) I see a couple of interesting places to talk about M2M at next month's DemoCamps:
http://wiki.eclipse.org/Eclipse_DemoCamps_November_2012

I just confirmed the venue for the 2nd DemoCamp Copenhagen on November 21st, where beside the ALM and DevOps topics I expect to leave to some of my colleagues (including the most active Hudson co-committer beside Winston and the founder of the MultiConf project;-) I plan to speak about M2M, the IWG and related projects. More with a Java focus I assume.

Budapest is organized by healthcare provider B2i (http://www.b2international.com/portal/), with a large emphasis on Medical Messaging and HL7 or SNOMED right on the frontpage of its website. Unfortunately it is the week of DevoXX when I just return from Antwerp, so I personally will have to pass on that one. Maybe another IWG member was interested to speak there and meet this company obviously using Healthcare M2M judging from the site.

Given both Oracle and the Spec Leads of new Embedded JSRs and Cinterion are based in Munich, that DemoCamp is something I would seriously consider as soon as the date is confirmed and won't clash with other events and cities. An alternative could be Berlin, where Cinterion has a Development Center and the organizer Fraunhofer FOKUS also has a lot of relations with Healthcare IT and M2M.

Anyone else interested and able to participate in one of these or another location closer to you? Or even willing to organize further DemoCamps?;-)

Regards,
Werner

Hi,

I was wondering, if anybody had plans for M2M related DemoCamp presentations in November. So far I offered my DevOps and Hudson/PyDev talk to Vienna, as I talked about UOMo, M2M or DSLs there before, but I'd be happy if within reach to participate in a few other DemoCamps.

E.g. Ericsson in Sweden, that would be relatively easy to get there;-)
Germany or other parts of Europe if either sponsored tickets or at a very reasonable flight cost.

Regards,
Werner

One host city that struck me and theoretically from Vienna (though I'm not based there right now) it's not too far either is Budapest:
http://wiki.eclipse.org/Eclipse_DemoCamps_November_2012/Budapest

It is organized by B2i Healthcare Ltd. and the company's homepage already refers to HL7;-)

All of the webinar recordings can be found athttp://eclipse.org/community/m2m-webinars/

Thanks Ian!
FWIW the Youtube video channel featured on http://m2m.eclipse.org/community.html now also proposes the webinars, among with other vids, including the great TedX talk by Arlen.

Benjamin.

Yes, I imagine the heat distribution and convection parameters of the ovens need some M2M instrumentation to ensure perfect bread, everytime. :)

All,

Benjamin did a great job on the Lua webinar. We had 105 people register but for some reason only 24 attended. I am not sure why we had a high no-show % for this webinar compared to the others?

The recording is available at http://blip.tv/eclipse-videos/developing-with-lua-6395089. Unfortunately, the recording starts after the introduction because I forgot to start the recording. All of the important content is covered.

Some stats from the webinar:

- 45 people use Eclipse, 4 don?t use Eclipse, 5 sometimes use Eclipse and 50 did not answer

- 43 people just learning Lua, 2 have deployed a Lua app and 7 have created some examples or samples

- 43 countries represented, USA, India, Germany being the more popular
