Re: [m2m-iwg] M2M Webinar Stats (Ian Skerrett)
|
Ian,
Thanks a lot for the stats.
Martin's Famous Pastry, interesting, so it seems, not only does at least one US Pizza chain use Trusted Java (I'm presenting the JSR tomorrow, so it refreshed my memory, at JavaOne I'll have a broader session both on M2M and standards like NFC or Trusted Computing combined) there are also other seemingly SMEs now picking up on M2M:-)
Tech Mahindra is a customer from last year's project. They weren't able to send anybody to Eclipse Day Bangalore last year where myself and another Eclipse committer from our team were speaking, but it looks like the Mobile folks or R&D teams are also curious about these kinds of things
(unless it is confidential, would you know who represented them in the call, chances are I might know the person or met him/her during my year in India with them)
Department of fisheries and oceans is among US Government agencies who very strongly advocate UCUM already btw.
As I was in the JCP Meeting, I could not attend the webinar, but if there's a recorded version later, I'd love to view it.
I saw Ericsson on that list, too. Its JCP EC Rep told us, he's moving to a new company soon. I don't know, if his actual department has use cases for M2M, but the company sounds very much like it uses M2M a lot, both in Healthcare and other domains. Maybe he'd get them to join the IWG, at least the Webinar did not show this company's name.
Last but not least, are there any plans for JavaOne this year? Either for M2M specifically (anybody who attends is more than welcome to my talk on Oct 1st, 11:30 in Niko, I'll probably send a separate reminder) or Eclipse Foundation in general?
Thanks and Regards,
Werner
