[lepido-dev] Re: Install problem - resolved (kind of)

Hi Guys,

OK, got it. One or more of the prerequisite plugins was either interfering or clobbering one of those which came with Eclipse 3.1. What I did was set up an extension location (i.e. Help->Software Updates->Manage Configuration->Add Extension Location - Help docs roughly tell you how to set this up) into which I unzipped the emf-sdo-xsd, GEF, JEM and WTP zip files. I then used the update site to install Lepido into the normal Eclipse plugins area and everything works fine. I'm not sure exactly which plugin was causing the problem so I can't really say the issue's properly resolved, but at least the plugin is installed correctly and works so I can take a look at the sitemap and CForm editors!

Thanks for all the feedback.

Scott.

Web Tools doesn't even show up, regardless of what I do. Anything from an update site is fine (EMF, GEF, etc) but unzipping and restarting just doesn't seem to register anything - I get no errors in the log about dependencies. All the other plugins appear enabled.

That sounds like a dependency problem with web tools. In my experience
Web Tools has a problem when you don't use the *exact* version they specify.

I recently did a clean install using the direct links provided on the
Lepido page and it worked a treat.

When you did you clean install did you ensure you used the specified
versions (i.e. not the ones from the update site)?

If this fails then I'm at a loss. You'll need to dig into the Eclipse
logs to see what is stopping it loading.
