Hi Xuebing,

That is a bit pricey though, and not really "open" HW (i.e. you could not simply manufacture it yourself).

I think having an easily accessible (easy to buy, not too pricey) Linux-based HW available for the OBD Port would be good for the open SDV space. I think this would find its customers in hobbyists and development teams (we see that from the regular requests
for the KUKSA dongle). Truth be told, the reason the KUKSA Dongle is not easily available was the issue, that it is not super cheap to produce, unless you produce A LOT, and we never got over that initial hurdle. So a "simpler" design might have more success.
Not sure it is something "to get rich" with, but if it is something that might be build using
https://www.seeedstudio.com  Fusions services or similar it would be cool. (for KUKSA and probably also other Eclipse SDV projects)

There are definitely "use cases" where vehicle, e.g. truck data is uploaded to the cloud, but I guess this more a business case question. Sure it needs the hardware, and definitely KUKSA can be a good part for the in-vehicle part (as also shown in the Eclipse
Fleet Management Bluprint: https://github.com/eclipse-sdv-blueprints/fleet-management  , but as an OSS project this is a tech demo & inspiration.  We can show feasibility, but making a business model out of it, is sort of your homework as user. Of course nothing would make Eclipse
SDV and KUKSA folks more proud then being at the core of your successful business 😄

Betreff: [kuksa-dev] Receive data from truck's OBD port and upload data to Kuksa cloud

Hi community,
I am thinking to connect Kuksa hardware to a truck’s OBD port and upload data to Kuksa cloud? Do you think any one or company would want this solution?
I googled but it seems there is nowhere I can buy Kuksa hardware, so I made my own CAN/OBD hardware:
Theoretically this Kuksa hardware can be connected to OBD port of any vehicle and powered by OBD port.
Again, do you think any one or company would want this solution which is to receive CAN/OBD data from the vehicle like a truck and upload to Kuksa cloud? Thanks.
