Re: [jms-dev] [ACTION] Project name Jakarta Messaging

I have a similar feeling regarding package renaming. Jakarta Messaging is the best name for the project, and jakarta.messaging is also probably the best package name. But changing packages beyond javax->jakarta should better be done as part of a coordinated initiative IMO.

Users will be confused if we tell them we have just replaced javax with jakarta but then they find some individual projects have decided to go further.

Jakarta Messaging is an excellent spec name. As for the package name, I'm a *bit* worried that people are used to using javax.jms and switching to jakarta.jms is less of a problem than switching to jakarat.messaging, just from a cognitive load perspective.  Maybe that's not an issue.

For those who have not noticed it, there is a discussion going on in Github issue on the official name of the Jakarta specification formerly known as JMS.

The prevailing opinion thus far is to call it Jakarta Messaging.  As the acronym is in the package, there is desire to change it to `jakarta.messaging` as part of any future javax-to-jakarta repackaging.

If you have a distinctly different opinion on the name specifically, your voice is needed asap.  The re-creation of the github repo will happen soon.  There is time for you to disagree on the `jakarta.messaging` package.
