  • Thread-topic: Possibly regression with JSP scratch directory?
  • User-agent: Microsoft-MacOutlook/16.87.24072822

I just did a test of 12.0.12 to review the tmp cleanup fix, and it seems to be barking now about a JSP scratch directory at startup:

Caused by: java.lang.IllegalStateException: Could not create JSP scratch directory

I found the code block, but the logging lacks enough detail for me to know where it's trying to default that to, and whatever it is seems to be new/changed, as it wasn't failing like that before.

So wondering if it may be a regression related to the cleanup fix perhaps.

Rights look ok in my specified tmp folder for my webapp.

If nothing else, knowing what it defaults to might help me, i.e. what this returns:

            File tmp = (File)getServletHandler().getServletContext().getAttribute(ServletContext.TEMPDIR);

Assuming that is the temp folder for the webapp where jars are unpacked and such, there's no reason it wouldn't be able to create more folders under there, it does unpack the jars there.
