[jemo-dev] Scope of Jemo?

Hi,
I just watched Yannis' presentation on Jemo at the EclipseCon Europe conference.  Thanks for the background.

But, I am a little confused on the scope of this Jemo project.  Is it a programming model?  Is it a runtime?  Is it both?  I see aspects of both, but I'd like to get your opinion.

Your project charter also mentions how it wants to support Jakarta EE and MicroProfile programming models.  So, is the idea to complement these two programming models?  Or, will it extend them?  Or, compete against them?

What about Quarkus and/or Micronaut?  These are additional runtimes that promise AOT characteristics for these programming models.  How does Jemo compare/complement/compete against these runtimes?

And, even going up another level...  You mention how you provide a level of indirection for the underlying clouds, databases, message brokers, etc...  So, how does this compare to OpenShift and that layer of abstraction?

I think comparing Jemo to the existing projects and environments would help set the scope and understanding of this project.

Thanks,
Kevin
