I had the same thought last week and was referred to some reference doc that say differently: https://docs.github.com/en/pull-requests/collaborating-with-pull-requests/working-with-forks/configuring-a-remote-for-a-fork

FWIW, I personally don't use upstream/origin and so on to avoid confusion. I use `eclipse` (would be upstream), `me` (would be origin), `thomas`, `bob`...
