It looks like Andrey may have discovered a possible cause in his last

comment.

I think it would be easier to narrow down such issues by launching

a child Eclipse using the PDE functionality against various commits.

This way you can also revert changes suspected of causing an issue

to determine if they in fact restore the expected behaviour.
