[jaxb-impl-dev] Suggestion to nominate Laurent Schoelens for a committer on the Eclipse JAXB-impl project

Hello, dear JAXB-impl committers,

I'd like to suggest nominating Laurent Schoelens to become a committer on this project. I believe he has proven his experience with and dedication to this project as well as to the whole JAXB ecosystem and I'm confident he would be a great addition to the team.

I cannot nominate Laurent myself. I'm not a committer specifically on the Eclipse JAXB-impl, despite being a committer on several Eclipse projects and Jakarta EE specifications. But I'd like to help with his nomination if there's support for it.

I'll follow with reasons and evidence for why I think Laurent should be nominated. Please, respond with +1 if you would welcome his nomination, or even feel free to use the information I share here to help you submit a nomination.

Name: Laurent Shoelens
Github profile: https://github.com/laurentschoelens

You can find him also on Jakarta EE Slack: @Laurent Schoelens

Related activities:

An active contributor to Eclipse JAXB-impl project
One of the 2 current core committers of the jaxb-tools project
Other people that endorse Laurent:

David Matejcek, project lead of Eclipse GlassFish, committer on several Eclipse projects and Jakarta EE specifications:
I used JAXB a lot, might be interesting to move all those extensions to standard JAXB. Like usage of interfaces, toString, UUID, if I remember well ... and ensure that all those things do work in both directions.
HighSource (Alexej Valikov) did a lot of work on JAXB tools and it was very nice surprise that the community around his work still exists.

Matt Pavlovich, the other core committer of the jaxb-tools project:
I would nominate Laurent Shoelens for JAXB committer status-- he is doing a lot of the heavy lifting w/ highsource/jaxb-tools and knows the ins-and-outs

I hope this helps and that Laurent will be able to help moving the Eclipse JAXB-impl project forward.

All the best,
Ondro Mihalyi
