Good point!
The specification is called Jakarta RPC, so there is no reason why it shouldn't be more generic to cover more alternatives.
Currently, the goal of the specification is to make gRPC easier to use in Java, so that would need to be rewritten slightly. Otherwise, there is nothing preventing that from being the result..
