[jakartaee-platform-dev] Removal of Support for Distributed Interoperability - discussion

Hi,

I was reviewing the impact of "Removal of Support for Distributed Interoperability".

When the Chapter 10 "Support for Distributed Interoperability" is removed from the Core Features document, there are references made within the document:
  • Section 2.5 - Standard Mapping to CORBA Protocols refers to Chapter 10
  • Section 15.7 Requirements for Clients (paragraph 3 refers to Section 10.5.5 System Value Classes)
  • Section 10.5.4 Obtaining Stub and Client View Classes refers to Section 15.3 Packaging Requirements
  • Chapter 8 Support for Transactions and Chapter 9 Exception Handling are referred from Chapter 10 but nothing specific to interoperability
In the Optional Features document, Chapter 11 Support for Distributed Interoperability refers to Core Features Chapter 10 Support for Distributed Interoperability. This chapter also needs to be removed.

Next up is impact to the Platform specification, the Enterprise Beans interoperability is mentioned in the following sections:
  • Section 3.4.3 Unauthenticated Users
  • Section 4.2.1.1 Transaction Requirements
  • Section 4.3.1 Multiple Jakarta EE Platform Interoperability
  • Section 6.2.3.4 Java IDL (Proposed Optional)
  • Section 6.2.3.6 RMI-IIOP (Proposed Optional)
  • Section 6.2.3.7 JNDI
  • Section 6.3 Jakarta Enterprise Beans 3.2 Requirements
  • Section 7.1 Introduction to Interoperability
  • Section 7.1.2 Internet and Web Protocols
  • Section 7.2.2 OMG Protocols (Proposed Optional)
The above sections refer to Enterprise Beans interoperability in one sentence or one paragraph. The change will be to remove the sentence or paragraph alone. Just to be clear, I am not suggesting the removal of any of the above sections.

Please review and let me know if the places identified above are correct or I may have missed something.
