Re: [jakarta.ee-wg] [Jakarta EE Participant Members Quotes] NEEDED

Eric and all who will submit your quotes to the Membership page,

Via Primeton's quote submission issue, with Eric, we have hashed out for you a draft 1-page document:  Quote Recommended guidelines. We hope it is helpful.

Under the Photos folder> WG Members Quotes, the guidelines are currently housed in the Jakarta EE Community drive. Anyone has edit access to contribute to the document.

Ideally, as more of you submit #SharingIsCaring quotes, you could help adjust the guideline to help export it to the Jakarta EE Repo documenting the activity.

I recommend we use the git-pages feature. It allows for future feedback to be submitted via PRs, enabling review and 365 collaboration without the requirement that you must be a committer to improve the documentation.
We are using git pages for the current work documenting the TCK, and it is a truly fantastic feature that lowers the bar to welcome everyone to part-take and contribute.

Eric and Primeton Team, you rock. Your open-source actions inspire! Thank you for making it fun for me to contribute via open channels to this initiative, I appreciate your time and care to push all its parts & show how stuff gets accomplished as it ought to be.

See you and other #ossDOERs,  in the marketing repo, in the website repo, and across all the other activities that are being tackled via open and traceable channels! :)

Hola Eric,

Thank YOU for being the first one to jump on the activity. You and the Primeton Team are already doing such a great job helping pilot the first Website translation project!  :)

Now, via actions, you could help create the template to submit your quote & help others do so as well without wandering around the "requirements." There is nothing set to enable you nor others to own the quote delivery feature.

After sending this email to the WG forum, I was hopeful that someone would jump into the arena and ask for clarification. :)
So, I sent a new issue marketing ticket to bring the focus to the lack of Jakarta EE Working Group onboarding support via public documentation that ought to be added to the Jakarta EE Repo and via PRs, enable everyone to make the processing better and lower the bar & make it fun and proactive. Current members and each new member joining this community can better what currently is.

I will use your ticket (amazing speed)  to provide the feedback that we could incorporate into the onboarding process on the other ticket :)

Hi Amelia,

Great calling and I am totally supporting that!
I have tried to add one here https://github.com/jakartaee/collateral/issues/36 but I am not sure if it is ok.
And I think it would be more practical if we have a more specific definition about the template of the issue, including the followings:
1. [company name quote] (what should be placed here in the title cause keep it blank seems to be a little wierd?)
2. by the end of the issue, there should be some title and company information about the committer such as :
[needed]name of the committer
[needed]title
[optional]main business of the company
3. also to keep it neat on the page, may be we should define the words limit of the testimonials as to, maybe around 60 words?

Thanks again for your efforts.

clarification on how to submit your quotes recommended:
  1. new issue ticket write up
  2. [Company name quote]
  3. send

Hola Jakartees,

+ 2 weeks ago, I sent to the new Marketing repository issue[Participant Members Quotes] ought to be added to the Membership rotation #30

This is a voluntary submit your quotes (applicable to 11 Members, including Enterprise) answering in 2 to 3 sentences via the Issue ticket, why you choose to support/invest your ORGs' money, human capital resources & time to the re-branding of Java EE.

Currently, the quotes that rotate in the Membership Benefits page have only 6 quotes from Strategic Members.

Why this email exists?

About 1 month ago, 1 beautiful Jakartee asked me about the quotes.
Questions asked:
  1. Shouldn't the quotes include any ORG that is actively contributing to the Jakarta EE project?
I said, YES, it must be inclusive and include any member listed on the Membership page.
  1. Then, why is it that only Strategic Members continue to be highlighted across the board in all Jakarta EE informal blogs, this space...?
I said you are correct to call out what I have called out via the community forum a few times before.
We must do better to put forth formal Jakarta EE Announcements reviewed by the Steering committee so that the Jakarta EE Working Group Members is the signature used and not any individual or the Foundation.

With this, we must do better, and that starts with caring enough to own the involvement that includes oversights.

I finished that conversation with, Tomitribe's quote was not requested by the people in charge of setting up the quotes.
When I saw the quotes, I sent our quote, and I expected others to be welcomed to send the quotes as we did. THAT was a mistake. Fixing something on the quiet side and not scaling how we push for inclusion needs to be documented somewhere in the Repo for Jakarta EE so that new Members have an onboarding Q&A where they know exactly what's what & can help improve the process by doing.

Please send your quotes, don't hesitate to choose to be included.  1 action, yours can make things better!
