I was thinking of sending an email on the voting email but I worried about polluting the voting thread, so I sent a direct message for Ivar to withdraw the vote with the following explanation.

Concurrency TCK will have to perform a service release or minor release (to be decided by Jakarta Spec committee). If we start the ballot for platform release, it will contain a different version of concurrency tck than the one packaged in Web Profile.

On the call, the platform group would like you to withdraw the ballot for now. Hopefully both platform and web profile will go to ballot next week with the same Concurrency TCK release version.

Besides, Mike mentioned Eclipse Foundation will just do one press release for platform, web profile and core profile. There is little value to get one release out earlier with a mismatching spec version.

That's a fair question, Kenji. I didn't attend the Platform call yesterday, so I am not sure what was discussed there. My impression was that it wouldn't affect the Platform.

I'll leave it to someone that was on the call to give an explanation.

Greetings Jakarta EE Specification Committee,

I request your vote to approve and ratify the release of the Jakarta EE Platform 10 specification.

Note that this ballot is for the Jakarta EE Platform specification only. There will be separate ballots for Jakarta EE Web- and Core Profiles.

The JESP/EFSP requires a successful ballot of the Specification Committee in order to ratify the products of this release as a Final Specification (as that term is defined in the EFSP).

Per the process, this will be a fourteen-day ballot, ending on Tuesday, August 9, 2022, that requires a Super-majority positive vote of the Specification Committee members (note that there is no veto). Community input is welcome, but only votes cast by Specification Committee Representatives will be counted.

The Specification Committee is composed of representatives of the Jakarta EE Working Group Member Companies (Fujitsu, IBM, Oracle, Payara, Tomitribe, Primeton, and Shandong Cvicse Middleware Co.), along with individuals who represent the EE4J PMC, Participant Members, and Committer Members.

Specification Committee representatives, your vote is hereby requested. Please respond with +1 (positive), 0 (abstain), or -1 (reject). Any feedback that you can provide to support your vote will be appreciated.
